Mentoring is a special partnership between two people based on commitment to the mentoring process, common goals & expectations, focus, mutual trust and respect.
It allows young people to learn valuable knowledge from those who have experience & advantage of maturity.
The consistent, enduring presence of a caring adult in a young person’s life can be the difference between staying in school or dropping out, making healthy decisions or engaging in risking behaviours & realizing one’s dreams.
To expose students and young adults to diverse spectrum of opportunities & work available in their fields of study.
To provide students & young adults a window through which to view professional obligations in the real world.
To provide young people with a platform to engage in conversations with experienced mentors & successful peers.
Through expert guidance and mentorship, I was able to gain admission to Makerere University, and also get MasterCard scholarship. In addition, I was guided to apply for the Study of the United States Institute (SUSI) program. SUSI has been one of the best things to happen to me.
