My Quest To Teach, TESI sign MOU to empower youth
TESI is excited to announce a new partnership with My Quest To Teach (MQTT), led by renowned American educator and digital innovator Professor William Jackson. The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on June 22, 2025, sets the stage for a collaborative effort to deliver technology-driven learning workshops for youth in Uganda and across Africa.
The partnership aligns with TESI’s mission to promote education, ICT, and leadership among students and young people. Through this collaboration, both organizations will work together to empower youth with essential 21st-century skills—including artificial intelligence (AI), digital literacy, public speaking, entrepreneurship, and leadership development.
The first joint project under this MOU is already underway: a four-part online course titled “AI for Education and Career Growth,” facilitated by Professor Jackson and TESI’s Executive Director, Emmanuel Angoda. The course has drawn enthusiastic participation from young learners in Uganda and beyond, with interactive sessions focused on how emerging technologies can shape careers and learning in the digital age.
Speaking about the partnership, Emmanuel Angoda remarked:
“This MOU represents a major milestone in TESI’s work to bring global knowledge and opportunities to African learners. With Professor Jackson’s vast experience in education, support for WordCamps, and digital innovation, our young people in Lira and Uganda as a whole will benefit greatly from his mentorship and the global perspectives he brings. This is first stage of our collaboration.”
Professor Jackson, who is also the CEO of My Quest To Teach and a member of several international technology and education organizations, emphasized the value of this collaboration in bridging the digital divide and fostering youth innovation.
“Africa is rich with talent and creativity. This partnership allows us to invest in young minds and support a new generation of thinkers, innovators, and community builders,” he shared.
What to Expect
Under the MOU, TESI and My Quest To Teach will organize monthly virtual workshops, each running for 4 to 6 weeks. These workshops will cover areas such as:
- AI, VR, and the Metaverse in education
- Entrepreneurship and business skills
- Leadership and public speaking
- Community building through technology
The sessions are open to youth across Uganda and the wider African continent and are delivered via accessible platforms such as Google Meet.
Beyond technical skills, the partnership also aims to promote cultural exchange and professional development between African and American educators and learners. Participants benefit not only from knowledge-sharing but also from international networking and exposure to global best practices.
