TESI plays central role at WordCamp Lira 2025
WordCamp Lira 2025 was more than just another tech gathering—it was a celebration of community, collaboration, and shared passion for WordPress. At the heart of it all was the TESI, whose platform and network formed the backbone of the event’s success.
From the earliest planning stages to the final wrap-up, TESI played a central role. Most of the event’s organizers, speakers, and volunteers are active members of the TESI platform, which continues to nurture young leaders, educators, and tech enthusiasts across Uganda. Their involvement ensured that WordCamp Lira 2025 not only ran smoothly but also reflected the energy and values of the TESI community: learning, innovation, and service.
The organizing team brought together individuals who have long collaborated under the TESI umbrella. Their shared experiences in education, digital skills, and leadership made it easier to coordinate the complex logistics of hosting a WordCamp. All the WordCamp Lira 2025 organizers are on the TESI whatsapp group. These include: Okwanga Oscar, Owiny Pius, Obote Denis, Ayenyo Joanita, Ogwang Abel, Angoda Emmanuel, and Akwam Emmy Milton. For many attendees who knew about TESI, it was not a surprise to see all TESI people
Behind every successful event are volunteers—and at WordCamp Lira, in both 2024 and 2025, most of them came from TESI’s ranks. Whether welcoming guests, managing registration, guiding sessions, or handling technical support, their dedication ensured that every participant felt included and supported. Many were first-time WordCamp volunteers, yet their enthusiasm demonstrated the strong culture of service that TESI has cultivated over the years. Volunteers such as Sharon, Bella, Freddy, Solo, Valerie, and Monica have long been part of TESI. In fact, we had the same volunteers at TESI Higher Education & Career Guidance Fair 2025.
WordCamp Lira 2025 will be remembered not just as an event, but as a milestone where TESI demonstrated its commitment to the WordPress movement—and also its ability to organize STEM events in northern Uganda.
